Our story

CMS Wellness is a community-centered wellness hub rooted in legacy, access, and care.

Founded by Londen Gatewood, a Compton native and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. CMS Wellness began as a vision for a private practice office and evolved into a shared space in response to community need. Housed in her grandparents’ family home owned for over 70 years, CMS Wellness continues a legacy of service and stewardship.

Londen’s late grandmother, Catherine Martin Solomon, which is where CMS derived from, is an unsung leader in the City of Compton, who dedicated more than 60 years to community service through city councils, boards, commissions, church auxiliaries, and civic engagement. Her commitment to care inspired the transformation of the home into a wellness space open to both practitioners and the community.

Inspired by this legacy, CMS Wellness expanded to include a community garden created in collaboration with Lee Hightower, a former NFL player turned urban gardener. Motivated by his grandmother’s influence and a shared commitment to promoting healthy habits and closing intergenerational gaps, the garden serves as a living extension of the work offering space for healing, nourishment, and community gathering.

Today, CMS Wellness supports licensed clinicians, holistic practitioners, and creatives while providing accessible, community-centered wellness programs. More than a space, CMS Wellness is a shared home for healing where legacy, collaboration, and collective well-being meet.
